3000 Classic Excursion (4×4 Bus and Group Guide)
The Etna 3000 excursion (currently reaching just below this altitude at 2850 meters at the Volcanological Observatory. See Maps) proposed by us takes place with the help of the tourist transport service authorized on the northern side of Etna which they allow you to easily ascend from an altitude of 1800 to the base of the summit craters of the Etna volcano. Once you reach Piano Provenzana you will take special 4×4 bus vehicles. There are 2 stages, one intermediate and one at the highest altitude currently reachable by motor vehicles on the volcano (2850 m) always accompanied by a volcanologist guide. Etna 3000 is a tour suitable for everyone (excluding heart patients and newborns due to the altitude). N.B.: This excursion is provided by the Etna Travel Service company (EtnaExcursion.it acts as a reseller and only requires secretarial and reservation ticket rights).

MEETING POINT
Departures: From Piano Provenzana, at the ticket office. 9.15am - every hour (summer period).

From 1800 to 2800 mt - ASCENT BY 4x4
From the tourist station of Piano Provenzana, where there is also the possibility of a short stop for the bathroom or for a coffee, we will board the special UNIMOG vehicles, unstoppable off-road vehicles with around 30 seats. In about 35 minutes you will reach the base of the summit craters in the area called Piano delle Concazze. Here we will descend and the guide will show you the beauties of our volcano while also admiring the sea of Taormina, Calabria and much more.

What should i bring?
Trekking shoes are recommended for this excursion. Also recommended: poles, sunglasses, windproof jacket / sweatshirt, water. If you need it, you can take advantage of our rental where you will find shoes, jackets, sticks and more.

What can i rent?
At the La Capannetta rental shop you can rent suitable shoes and jackets. The rental is located 300 meters from the tour starting point near the Mareneve bar and the chair lift.

In case of bad wheather?
It depends. If the conditions are not prohibitive, i.e. it is cloudy or raining but there is a fair visibility, usually the tours are carried out without any difficulty. In any case, the guide carries out an evaluation based on his experience and if the conditions are not met, he can decide to move or cancel the excursion in agreement with our guests. In case of cancellation due to bad weather, decided between the parties, the reimbursement of any advance membership fees paid is made.
